Introduction

Social innovation needs collaborative actions to make impact and provoke provoke changes in social relations and governance system. In order to be transformative, novel collaborative approaches and participatory processes engaging multi-actor stakeholders are needed to solve social needs, empower communities and improve welfare conditions in rural areas.

Building collaboration among actors is crucial for social innovation development. Cross-fertilization and coordination of joint activities for synergy building between EU projects may speed up bioeconomy and social innovations. This can raise awareness, enhance mutual learning, boost networking and knowledge exchange that contribute to support the creation of new linkages between rural communities and innovation stakeholders and development of cross-sectoral collaborations.
